Company Overview & History

The Wilbury Biotechnology Center s SeqWright Incorporated is a molecular biology research support company specializing in DNA discovery products and customized services designed for scientific researchers from the pharmaceutical, agricultural, biotechnology, government and academic communities. Founded by distinguished scientists from the Baylor College of Medicine Human Genome Sequencing Center (BCM-HGSC), SeqWright was established to offer comprehensive and cost-effective service solutions aimed to satisfy the needs of life science researchers everywhere.

SeqWright gives its customers access to genome center experience and expertise. We offer an array of outsourcing options including (but not limited to) DNA sequencing, SNP discovery, shotgun library construction, genotyping, quantitative PCR and DNA synthesis. Our techniques are proven cost-effective and reliable, having been used in the completion of a number of major collaborations and endeavors including the Human Genome Project. Moreover, our reputation is built on a solid, nine-year track record of quality and expertise that has made us a leader in our field.

In the “post-genomics” era, SeqWright is positioned to be on the forefront of contract genomic research. Our production pipeline utilizes state-of-the-art technologies for high-throughput DNA testing and genomic data manufacturing without sacrificing flexibility and quality. Our GLP facility is constructed to manage a wide variety of genomic applications, and operating under a rigid quality-controlled environment, SeqWright is specially equipped for research requiring downstream approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Last year (2002) proved to be a groundbreaking year for SeqWright marked by the opening of its new facility located in the Wilbury Biotechnology Center (Houston, TX). This year is proving itself equally successful as SeqWright has unveiled a fresh series of innovative products and services directed towards furthering genomic research. With another round of construction scheduled on our facility later this year, customers can soon expect to see SeqWright tackling new areas of genomic research and expanding its services to include clinical testing. Be on the lookout for our upcoming line of cutting-edge services, which will be made available early next year.

Once again, we at SeqWright wish to thank all of our partners in discovery who have helped make us the successful organization we are today, and we sincerely appreciate your ongoing support.
